Jeffrey Epstein’s most powerful friend and political ally throughout the peak of his sick criminal enterprise was the 42nd President of the United States of America, William Jefferson Clinton. President Bill Clinton forged a close personal friendship with the pedophile child trafficker which allowed Epstein a profound level of political protection. However, Epstein and Clinton’s relationship wasn’t built on blackmail, rather, it was a complex fusion of influence and collusion.

In the first three parts of the Epstein 101 series, we explored the grooming, abuse and exploitation of young girls by Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal of people traffickers. However, if you believe that Epstein was simply a people trafficker running a selection of classic sex compromise operations on unsuspecting members of a powerful and wealthy elite class, you are very far off the mark. By the beginning of the new millennium, Epstein had run guns; laundered vast amounts of money; setup complex Ponzi schemes; dealt in high-end properties; worked within various hedge funds; and committed grand acts of espionage. He was not just simply blackmailing his targets. In fact, on almost every occasion, Epstein’s ‘targets’ could be more accurately described as his ‘accomplices’.
One subject which writers such as myself tend to avoid when examining Jeffrey Epstein’s network was his amiable nature. Many people who met Epstein reported him as being rather charming and why wouldn’t they? In reality, the more sordid parts of his enterprise had been obscured or hidden entirely from view. Those who mingled in Jeffrey Epstein’s circle, and who saw no significant level of impropriety, reported that Epstein was affable.
In hindsight, many of the people who associated with Epstein throughout this period of time were later to reject him publicly as a grotesque child molester, but that’s much easier to do after the more serious information had been exposed. However they viewed him later on, at the time these people saw Epstein as a gateway to those in power. The type of contacts which Epstein could supply to his wealthy clientele were invaluable to their careers. Epstein had his fingers in many proverbial pies and he had got there by being very friendly and personable, he was a habitual groomer after-all.
One of the most intriguing and well-publicized relationships Epstein forged during this period was his ‘bromance’ with former-president Bill Clinton. Throughout their close friendship, Epstein assisted Clinton in many different ways and, on occasion, they used their combined charms to manipulate leaders around the globe.
But Clinton also gave Epstein prestige and notoriety, something the money-man later admitted he could have done without.
Epstein and Clinton, Industrial Groomers
In October 2002, an article by Landon Thomas Jr. entitled, Jeffrey Epstein: International Moneyman of Mystery, described Clinton as Epstein’s “latest prized addition” to his enterprise. The article also quoted a Clinton spokesman as saying:
“Jeffrey is both a highly successful financier and a committed philanthropist with a keen sense of global markets and an in-depth knowledge of twenty-first-century science. I especially appreciated his insights and generosity during the recent trip to Africa to work on democratization, empowering the poor, citizen service, and combating HIV/AIDS.”
Although in this article we will cover Clinton and Epstein’s relationship during 2002 specifically, their association predates Clinton’s life as a supposed “private citizen”. Early reports originally suggested that Epstein’s friendship dated back to as early as 1995, when Epstein paid tens-of-thousands of dollars to join him at “an intimate fund-raising dinner in Palm Beach,” but, in reality, their friendship can be traced back to a month after Clinton’s inauguration in January 1993. From their first official handshake, Clinton and Epstein reportedly met another 17 times over the following two years, with the majority of the meetings taking place in the White House’s West Wing itself.i
In a 2007 letter from Epstein’s legal team, which included Alan Dershowitz and Gerald Lefcourt, Epstein was also described as being a co-founder of the Clinton Global Initiative which later became the Clinton Foundation. It was clear that, by 2002, Clinton and Epstein had a multitude of links.
Before 2002, Epstein had gone largely unnoticed by the mainstream media, with just the odd mention in various financially-minded publications which often painted Epstein as a super savvy and extraordinarily generous money man with a superior intellect. But the veil of mystery Epstein had so-far sustained began to fall away as he forged a much more public-facing relationship with former-President Clinton. In the previously mentioned Landon Thomas Jr. article, the writer states:
“Before Clinton, Epstein’s rare appearances in the gossip columns tended to be speculation as to the true nature of his relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell.”
Eventually, this sort of press coverage led to Epstein and Maxwell’s operation coming under scrutiny. The article goes on to ask an important question about Maxwell and Epstein’s relationship:
“While they are still friends, the English tabloids have postulated that Maxwell has longed for a more permanent pairing and that for undetermined reasons Epstein has not reciprocated in kind. “It’s a mysterious relationship they have,” says society journalist David Patrick Columbia, “In one way, they are soul mates, yet they are hardly companions anymore. It’s a nice conventional relationship, where they serve each other’s purposes.”
It became clear to Epstein and Maxwell that they were gaining unwanted attention, and the fact that their relationship was an enigma of contradictions was clearly going to increase public speculation and, in turn, incur more media scrutiny.
The heat was on, and the excess attention was a direct consequence of Epstein and Clinton’s public globetrotting. On one trip in particular that we will cover later, Epstein, Clinton and their entourage traversed Africa,ii a journey which had apparently been organized by Clinton’s advisor, Doug Band.iii On that trip, Epstein and Clinton brought along actor Kevin Spacey (a friend of Bill Clinton’s) and comedian/actor Chris Tucker. The decision to make such a celebrity-filled, high profile trip with a former-president saw Epstein’s cover blown wide-open for the first time and led to him receiving a slew of unwanted media requests. Epstein later reportedly told a friend:
“If my ultimate goal was to stay private, traveling with Clinton was a bad move on the chessboard. I recognize that now. But you know what? Even Kasparov makes them. You move on.”
Yet, regardless of what Epstein may have had leaked to the press, the truth is, his close association with Clinton offered him a level of protection which eventually worked positively in his favor, at least until the proverbial heat turned into a raging fire.
As early as 15 November 1992, there were already reports suggesting that Jeffrey Epstein was linked to both the CIA and the Mossad. Michael Robotham had originally reported on this subject in the UK’s Mail on Sunday, in a speculative piece entitled, The Mystery of Ghislaine Maxwell’s Secret Love; Revealed: The Unlikely Romance Between a Business Spy and the Crooked Financier’s Favourite Daughter.iv In that article Robotham stated:
“One outrageous story links him [Epstein] to the CIA and Mossad. Another that Epstein was a concert pianist. Yet another that he was a math teacher at an exclusive girls school.”
By 2002, Epstein and Clinton’s relationship was almost a decade old and it was in that year where they began a series of relatively under-reported trips together. Apart from being the year where Epstein began to be properly discovered by the mainstream printed press, 2002 also saw him involved in various high level international meetings, some more secretive than others.
On 9 February 2002, Clinton was recorded as flying on Epstein’s plane from Miami International Airport to Westchester County, New York. On that occasion, the flight logs record that there were 4 Secret Service agents accompanying the former-President. Clinton is again recorded on Epstein’s flight manifest accompanied by a sizable Secret Service detail, with flight logs recording that on the 19 March 2002, Clinton and Epstein flew from JFK to London’s Luton airport alongside 3 members of the Secret Service, Doug Band, Ghislaine Maxwell and Sarah Kellen. The group didn’t fly back to JFK airport until 21 March and, when they did, they returned with an extra 7 members of the Secret Service, supermodel Naomi Campbell and an unidentified male passenger.
It was in May of 2002 that one of Epstein’s most intriguing political influence campaigns came directly into the public eye.
2002: An Asian Odyssey
On 22 May 2002, Bill Clinton was again recorded on the flight logs for the infamous Lolita Express, but on this occasion, we are able to first observe a serious and fundamental break in the standard Secret Service security protocols. These are fundamental protective protocols which are normally strictly observed by any former-president, until Clinton and Epstein’s odyssey. Before Epstein, Maxwell and Kellen made their eventual rendezvous to collect Clinton in Japan, they had traveled via Nice, France, and Novosibirsk in Russia.
While he was in the office, the relationship between Clinton and the Japanese was complex yet friendly. During the initial two years of the Clinton administrations, he had enacted policies which put the Japanese and American’s critical relationship at risk. In the later years of his administration, Clinton sought to persuade the Japanese to fundamentally reform their economy. While Clinton may have desired to be perceived as serious and credible by Japan, in actuality, the Japanese people tended to instead see Clinton as more of a celebrity phenomenon. When Clinton appeared on a live Japanese talk show on 19 November 1998—probably to avoid the impeachment inquiry which was being carried out by the House of Representatives at the same time—he was intending to discuss the Japanese economic issues, yet the audience instead asked questions about what kind of grades the president got in school, his favorite foods, as well as the most common question during this period, how he and his family dealt with the Monica Lewinsky scandal.v
The Japanese had a strange relationship with the iconic Clinton brand and less than two years before Epstein and Co. met with former-President Clinton in Japan, an eccentric Japanese business man, Takeharu Shiraishi, had gone so far as to build an exact replica of Bill Clinton’s childhood home. The reproduction was built in Shiraishi’s holiday resort on the Northern end of Okinawa Island to honor the G-8 summit which took place in 2000.vi
The Japanese still regarded Clinton as an influential friend and ally after he left office. He had officially gone to Japan in 2002—just prior to meeting Epstein—to receive an honorary law doctorate which was presented to him by the president of Nihon University, Yukiyasu Sezaki, on the 21 May 2002.vii Ironically, the very next day after being awarded his honorary doctorate in law, Clinton boarded Jeffrey Epstein’s Lolita Express at Atsugi Naval Air Facility.
Recorded on board this flight out of a Japanese naval base were: Jeffrey Epstein; Ghislaine Maxwell; Sarah Kellen; President Bill Clinton; Pete Rathgeb; (a Florida-based pilot); Doug Band; two girls only referred to as Janice and Jessica; someone identified by the letters which appear to spell “MCXG”; and a note of “+6 pax”. No secret service were specifically noted on this packed out flight from Japan to Hong Kong, and some of the other identities of the people on this flight should probably be studied more thoroughly. Regardless of who was on board, the Japanese authorities cleared this illicit aircraft to leave from an official military base. Epstein’s plane had originally arrived at the Japanese naval base on 20 May, two days prior to their departure to Hong Kong.
There have been some reports investigating this mysterious Asian trip but due to the flight logs being, in some part poorly written and sometimes illegible, it isn’t always possible to be sure who initials such as “MCXG” might refer to. This mysterious character was reported in 2019 as being Wang Zhenhua of XG CO., Ltd. described in the TORE article as “an older sub of Future Land Holdings” with that same article also claiming that the girls listed as only “Jessica and Janice” were:
“Two specially curated females ages 13-14 that MCXG brought.”
Whether these initials did stand for Wang Zhenhua is not clear, but the Chinese billionaire was in fact heading towards the same fate as Jeffrey Epstein. The Chinese business man was arrested on charges of child molestation less than a week before Epstein was apprehended on 6 July 2019. Shanghai police detained the 57-year-old, who was only identified by the surname ‘Wang’, for alleged child molestation in a Shanghai hotel. Police confirmed:
“At 9 p.m. on July 3, Shanghai police issued a briefing on its official Weibo account. It was soon confirmed by Chinese state media that “Wang Zhenhua, the defacto controller of Seazen Holdings, is suspected of molesting a girl.”viii
Zhenhua was later given a five year jail sentence for child molestation.
Whatever the identities of the two girls who were recorded on the flight logs of Epstein’s plane during the initial stages of Clinton’s Asian adventure, their whereabouts remain unaccounted for and largely ignored by the mainstream media outlets which have reported on Clinton and Epstein’s Asian odyssey.
Epstein’s presidential party plane stopped in Hong Kong for a very lightly reported trip before flying on to China, landing at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport in the Guangdong province of China on 23 May 2002. The group only stayed there for a few hours. The same day, they flew from China, landing at Singapore’s joint civilian-naval base of Changi Air Base. The trip to Singapore, though never widely reported in western media, included Clinton meeting with royalty as well as various politicians in Singapore alongside Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Although many of the journey’s which this group took on both Clinton’s Asian and African tours were not often well documented, the Singapore leg of their trip comes with photo’s taken to record the historic meetings between Bill Clinton and the rulers of the benign dictatorship of Singapore.
The photographers also captured Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein present at the high level meetings. This included a selection of photos of all the people who partook in the gathering, including Epstein and Maxwell, recorded in the Singapore National Archives for posterity.ix
These pictures were taken at the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore, where Clinton, Epstein and Maxwell were recorded as having dinner at the hotel’s Jade Restaurant alongside Singapore’s Prime Minister, Goh Chok Tong, with the attendees also posing for a group photo after the meal was finished.x
Clinton went on to meet Singaporean Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew at Istana before leaving the Epstein entourage during this visit to go play golf with some of the Singaporean representatives. After a two night stay in Singapore, the group flew into Bangkok, Thailand, where they had a short stop-over before flying onto a meeting with the Sultan of Brunei, arriving in the kingdom on 25 May 2002.xi
When the group got to Brunei they were welcomed by the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, who made them his guests of honor for a meal at the illustrious Istana Nurul Izzah which was recorded in the government run Pelita Brunei four days after the meeting on 29 May 2002.xii
The Sultan of Brunei and his wider family have been tarred with a very similar history of accusations of illegal sexual behavior. The rulers of Brunei became well renowned for throwing lavish and outrageous parties, bringing in Western models, strippers and prostitutes to entertain the members of the royal family’s base sexual desires, even though prostitution and paying for sexual services is considered a serious criminal offense in the kingdom.
In 1997, Shannon Marketic, a former-Miss USA, took legal action against Jefri Bolkiah—the often out of control Prince of Brunei—saying that she and other women were hired for promotional modeling work but found themselves instead being held as “virtual prisoners”.xiii Marketic claimed that they were drugged during their captivity and forced to act as sex slaves for members of the Brunei royal family. Eventually the court ruled that the sultan had sovereign immunity as head of state and the judge dismissed the case.
Epstein’s entourage spent two nights as guests of their sordid royal bedfellows in Brunei, before flying out of Brunei International Airport. Here, at their departure, Clinton’s group and Epstein’s entourage went their separate ways, with Epstein and company continuing to fly on to Indonesia, where they spent two days before flying out to Sri Lanka. This Asian political tour of the elite pedophile child trafficker and the former-president of America was soon to be followed up by another such adventure later that same year.
On that occasion, President Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein brought a larger contingent made up of celebrities, mob-related business moguls, billionaires, and of course, very young girls who were being used for the sexual gratification of some of the powerful men who boarded the Lolita Express. The destination for the child trafficking enablers and the wealthy elite pedophiles flying onboard Epstein’s plane was the continent of Africa.
2002: An African Odyssey
In September 2002, President Clinton again left his normal security protocols behind while traveling with Epstein and his entourage. But this time they also brought along some celebrity additions to their entourage. Throughout this week long African adventure, Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and Sarah Kellen didn’t only host Bill Clinton, they had also invited Clinton’s friend, actor Kevin Spacey along on the journey, as well as comedian Chris Tucker. But on this tour, the Lolita Express had more than just the 6 aforementioned people on board. The flight logs show that traveling alongside the former-leader of the free world and his child trafficking associates were a large group of followers. Clinton’s advisor, Doug Band was present, as in their Asian Odyssey, but also recorded on the flight manifest at the beginning of this African tour were some very big movers and shakers.
On board this Africa-bound billionaire’s party jet was the American businessman and co-founder of The Yucaipa Companies, LLC, which is an American Private investment firm. Ronald Wayne Burkle had formed Yucaipa Co. in 1986 while he was in his mid-thirty’s, which he named after a Californian town where he had once lived. In a 2010 article published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, its author, Mark Belko, noted that:
“With the fortune has come attention, most of it unwanted. At times the subject of salacious gossip, Mr. Burkle fanatically tries to guard his privacy.”
But many of Burkle’s close associations with obvious weird and controversial characters may be the root-cause of the speculation surrounding the billionaire. A 2006 New York Times articlexiv described the wealthy business man, stating:
“Mr. Burkle, a kingmaker in California political circles and a confidant of a former governor, Gray Davis, has also been a loyal supporter of Mr. Clinton and former Vice President Al Gore, who both now have business relationships with him.”
In fact, Clinton was also a Burkle employee, with the former-president serving as an advisor to Yucaipa. The aforementioned NYT piece, written by Timothy L. O’Brien, also mentions:
“He had a highly publicized falling-out with Michael Ovitz, the former Hollywood power broker, several years ago, and came under the news media microscope in late 2000 for soliciting Mr. Clinton about a possible pardon for Michael Milken, the former junk-bond king and convicted felon. But for the most part, Mr. Burkle, who sits on the boards of the Occidental Petroleum Corporation and Yahoo, has avoiding engaging in high-profile business disputes.”
In what now must seem like sage advice, Burkle said in a statement to a public relations adviser:
“Corporate governance is not just for the boardrooms, It is also important in the newsrooms.”
In 2007, just a year after making these comments, Ron Burkle was “shut out” of a bid to buy a couple of American newspaper companies.xv Burkle along with another billionaire, Eli Broad, had made an unsuccessful attempt to by the Tribune, which owned both the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune,xvi as well as later considering “topping” Rupert Murdoch’s bidxvii for Wall Street Journal publisher Dow Jones, as reported by Forbes in September of that year. Instead Burkle invested in a Chinese media company which had become an “out-of-favor” asset. Burkle has many other interesting connections, being also described as “a former family friend of Michael Jackson”. Burkle purchased Jackson’s Neverland Ranch in 2020.xviii
Riding alongside billionaire Ron Burkle on the Lolita Express was Casey Wasserman, an American entertainment executive who’s grandfather, Lew Wasserman, was exclaimed to be, “arguably the most powerful and influential Hollywood titan in the four decades after World War II.” Casey Wasserman was the son of Jack Norman Myers (formerly Meyerowitz) and the LA socialite and philanthropist, Lynne Wasserman. After his father was convicted alongside reputed mobster Chris Petti of money-laundering, Casey Wasserman began using his mothers maiden name, most likely to escape his family ties to serious organized crime. In an interview with Jack Myers conducted by author Dennis McDougal, who wrote The Last Mogul, a biography of Lew Wasserman, Myers said:
“My son changed his name to Wasserman, I said, ‘Casey, first of all everyone will think you’re a fool if you do that. You look like an idiot.’”
Yet, Wasserman appeared more interested in obscuring his links to the mob than keeping his paternal name.
In 1952, Lew and Edie Wasserman founded the Wasserman Foundation, of which Casey Wasserman eventually became president and chief executive officer. The Wasserman Foundation became a major contributor to the Los Angeles Police Foundation as well as a major donor to the Democratic Party. On the Ghanaian leg of the trip, Casey traveled alongside his wife, movie music supervisor Laura Wasserman. Her grandfather had been the Democratic Party leader, Paul Ziffren, who was also the chairman of the group which had successfully won Los Angeles’ bid for the 1984 Olympics (Casey Wasserman was reported in 2016 as having led the effort for the 2024 bid). It was reported by Variety.com on 13 October 2016 that:
“In 1991, Bill Clinton attended his first major introduction to Hollywood fundraising circles at the home, when the Wassermans hosted an event that August for the Democratic National Committee. They threw another fundraiser for him in August of 1992, and then after he won the presidency that December, according to Variety archives.”xix
The latter article also gave a clue to how important the Wasserman family dynasty had been for the manipulators of post-World War II political history, stating:
“Other guests at the home through the years including a host of governors and senators, as well as Henry Kissinger when he was secretary of state. [Jimmy] Carter was a largely unknown Georgia governor when he first met Lew Wasserman, but he said in a 1982 interview that Wasserman’s backing proved “extremely helpful.” “When I decided to run, Mr. Wasserman was one of the first out-of-state-people I told,” Carter said, according to the book “Mr. and Mrs. Hollywood.” “People respected his judgment in political affairs.”
Another big player and Clinton ally who rode on this excursion was Rodney Slater, who had previously been Secretary of Transportation under President Bill Clinton. David Slade was also listed on the manifest, he was reportedly a personal assistant to Doug Band. Also on board the plane there were Andrea Mitrovic, Chantae Davies, Cindy Lopez, as well as Jim Kennedy, Gayle Smith, and a man named Eric, whose surname is illegible.
The group started their African odyssey in Ghana where Bill Clinton had arrived officially “to promote efforts to curtail the AIDS epidemic and encourage economic development.” During his trip to Accra, Clinton met with the then President of Ghana.
In 1998, Clinton became the first sitting President of America to tour Africa and had gone on to visit the continent a further two times in between his presidency and the event we’re currently examining. On this trip to Ghana, Bill Clinton was the guest of honor at the launch of the Foundation for the Building of Capital of the Poor (FBCP). This program had been supposedly devised to assist in “mobilizing the assets held by the poor to facilitate their economic development” and was also described as a “property reform program.”
It was President John Agyekum Kufuor of Ghana who launched the Foundation, which established a regional training institute in Accra for the benefit of other African countries interested in property reform programs. Ms Ursula Owusu, under the title of Governance Coordinator, stated that the Foundation, which was supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) was developed jointly through the Ministry of Justice of Ghana and the Peru Institute for Liberty and Democracy (ILD). The latter organization had been founded by Peruvian Economist and Author Dr. Hernando De Soto, a close ally of Clinton with the former-US President appointed as a patron of the foundation.
Dr. De Soto had delivered a series of lectures in Accra earlier the same year, reportedly at the invitation of the government and facilitated by the UNDP. Speaking to newsmen on arrival at the Kotoka International Airport on this occasion, Dr. De Soto told the press that he had decided to set up the foundation in Ghana because the government had shown commitment to democratic principles by developing proper property documentation for the poor people and persons living in the rural areas.xx
Although news articles from Ghana at the time only speak about the arrival of former-President Clinton, some reports do mention the fact that he is accompanied on this African tour by the actor Kevin Spacey and comedian Chris Tucker, there is no official mention of Epstein or Maxwell accompanying Clinton. But flight logs show that the Lolita Express flew into Accra on 22 September with the group being met on arrival by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Clinton’s meetings in Ghana took place behind closed doors, with African news outlets at the time stating that:
“The discussions were, however, believed to have centred on the launching of the foundation, economic and political developments in Africa and other parts of the world.”
Clinton caused controversy during this trip to Ghana by meeting with former-Ghanaian President Jerry John Rawlings. The private meeting between Clinton and Rawlings, who had originally hosted Clinton’s first historic visit to Ghana, caused concern among the Ghanaian officials who accused Clinton of coming-off the agreed protocol for his visit to Ghana, but Clinton insisted that his visit to Rawlings had been included on his original itinerary. The government and organizers of the visit claimed they had not been told about this meeting beforehand and this ‘miscommunication’ may be the first sign of issues that arose from the former-president not having his usual Secret Service security detail accompanying him. Clinton’s account of the events was soon contradicted by reports that the US Embassy officials had discreetly informed the Rawlings’ household that the former-president was coming to see him only on the day. Rawlings’ Special Aide, Victor Smith, confirmed that Ghanaian State Protocol formally informed them of a request by Clinton to meet Rawlings, saying:
“We received the information at 11 am today”.
Clinton’s visit to Ghana on this occasion was like no other trip he had taken in over a decade. The former-president had noticeably dropped his security protocols while he traveled with Epstein and their entourage. The Clinton/Epstein party plane left Accra on the Tuesday evening during their week in Africa, and landed in Abujaxxi, Nigeria, for the next step of their African tour. When leaving Ghana, the passengers of the Lolita Express were seen off by Alphonse Arthur, who was Director of State Protocol and officials stationed at the US Embassy in Accra. The groups next stop was Nigeria, where the former-president made a speech where he told the audience that the solutions to Nigeria’s problems could be found within the country, telling Nigerians that they were the only ones who could fix their problems. Clinton delivered his speech at the annual lecture of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) at the ECOWAS Secretariat in Abuja. His lecture was entitled “Democratisation and Economic Development” and seemed to follow a similar tone to his previous utterances during his time in Ghana.xxii
After Nigeria, the group went on to Rwandaxxiii which was described by Clinton’s office as “a one-day working visit”. This was Clinton’s second visit to Rwanda with his first visit occurring during his presidency in March 1998 only four years after the devastating Rwandan genocide. Clinton began his visit on this occasion with a visit to Kicukiro Health Centre and afterwards was hosted to lunch by the President of the Republic of Rwanda, H.E. Clinton also visited Gisozi Genocide Memorial site and Ndera village. During the Rwandan genocide, while Bill Clinton was in office as president, the United States had joined in the UN Security Council vote that removed nearly all UN peacekeepers from Rwanda as the genocide got underway. On this occasion, Clinton commended the Government of National Unity for it’s “good political and economic management” of Rwanda’s affairs: “I think your country is very well run. You are making good economic progress. Your good Government policies are moving this country in the right direction,” Clinton said while speaking in Rwanda.
At Kicukiro Health Centre, President Clinton also signed an agreement between the Clinton Foundation and the Government of Rwanda to “support a number of initiatives in HIV/AIDS care and prevention.” Speaking at the health center, President Clinton stated:
“It is important to take the prevention and treatment efforts that are already available in Rwanda and make sure we take it to all citizens. We also recognize that we need to increase the number of people who can serve those infected and increase the availability of AIDS drugs.”
This mission to push HIV and AIDS solutions in Africa is one that Clinton claimed Epstein had helped him form. Clinton went on to meet villagers from Ndera Village in the Kigali Ngali Province, who were reportedly receiving support from the Clinton Foundation.
Again, on this leg of the trip it was noted that Clinton was “accompanied by actors Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker” and was “in Africa to promote efforts to fight AIDS and encourage economic development.” The former-president and his entourage left Rwanda for their next leg of their journey, arriving in Maputo, Mozambique, on the Wednesday evening.
Clinton’s visit to Mozambique was a two-day event and the group disembarked at Maputo International Airport at 8:15 pm local time, where they were greeted by President Joaquim Chissano.xxiv Clinton spoke on the Thursday, pledging to help attract further US investment to Mozambique. Clinton and the then-Prime Minister of Mozambique, Pascaol Manuel Mocumbi, signed a joint-memorandum on HIV/AIDS.
The last leg of the groups journey saw them meet Nelson Mandela. They traveled into South Africa, where President Clinton delivered an address on the future of Africa and the role of the international community. He also joined Nelson Mandela in an event to recognize the importance of a project called “loveLife” as a model for global HIV/AIDS prevention.xxv
The loveLife scheme was a project which had been established by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation in partnership with the South African Government, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, UNICEF and others. Its aim was stated as being to reduce South Africa’s youth HIV/AIDS infection rate by 50 percent in five years. Also in South Africa, President Clinton met with the first class of Clinton Democracy Fellows. Described as “eleven young South African women and men who, under the auspices of the City Year program,” with ‘City Year’ being a Boston-based program on which AmeriCorps was modeled. AmeriCorps, was described as “a signal accomplishment of the Administration of President Clinton, included nearly 250,000 young Americans by January, 2001,” and an “independent agency of the United States government.”
Two Peas…
Clinton’s extremely close relationship to Jeffrey Epstein has been regularly portrayed in the media as the former-president being naive and gullible, but, in reality, Bill Clinton’s association with Epstein, and other intelligence assets throughout his career, were nearly all symbiotic relationships where both sides gained from the arrangement. This has been a reoccurring theme throughout the history of the Clinton dynasty, both Bill and Hillary Clinton have knowingly associated with criminal enterprises such as Epstein and Maxwell’s to not only gain monetarily, but also to allow them to seize more tangible political power.
Bill Clinton’s rhetoric in the public arena has been one of peace, solutions and personal responsibility. However, in his own life, both public and private, Clinton has created war and conflict among supposed allies while at the same time taking little to no accountability for his own actions. Once the news broke about Epstein and Maxwell’s pedophile ring, the Clinton’s found it very difficult to distance themselves from the duo. Yet, as always with the Clinton’s, they have remained seemingly untouchable and avoided any potential investigations, let alone prosecutions.
In aligning themselves with the former-president, Maxwell and Epstein may have truly believed that their proximity to the untouchable Clinton crime family had made them untouchable by default. They were very wrong.
